Brian Boyle is a former professional astronomer who started his astrophotography hobby when he “retired” to the beautiful dark skies of Otago in 2020. He now runs bespoke astronomy sessions from his observatory at Antimony Vineyard, Gibbston.  He regularly gives public presentations on astronomy and has been involved in Arrowtown’s Matariki celebrations since 2022 as the street-performing astrophysicist.   . 

Brian was previously the Director of Australia’s largest radio and optical telescopes, and part of the team that discovered the acceleration of the universe.
